Diana and Aston
Diana and Aston were close to each other, near the later half of their foreign exchange trip. Over the majority of the trip, they were able to meet, become friends, and get close to each other. They both liked each other secretly but didn't know who to act on it. They were both had their own issues when it came to relationships. Diane never had been with another person nor did she ever like another person romantically as she did Aston. While Aston was scarred and traumatized by bad experiences when it came to dating, whether it involved him or not, because of this he stayed away from dating. It became troubling for both at times, and eventually, it made more and more awkward moments between the two. Their internal issues grew more and more, Aston didn't want to feel hurt or traumatized again, while Diane didn't know if she actually like Aston, since he was the first person she ever got this close to.
Diane and Aston first met each other at the Louvre Museum in Paris. They were both apart of the foreign exchange program that was hosted at their colleges, the museum was the first official meeting place for the students. For both, it was their first year at college. Diane had lived her entire life near or in Paris, learning English since she middle school, while Aston has no knowledge of French, getting an opportunity to be apart of the program by a very "unique" circumstance. Aston's Uncle, Rus was one of the head directors of the program. Rus' job at the company was to plan trips for schools between schools, with some effort, he was able to help Aston join the program. Aston at first wasn't on board with going to Paris, he had no interest in leaving the country to be with people he didn't know, he wasn't close with his uncle either. His dad insisted him to join, because of Rus' efforts to get him in. He reluctantly joined the program, feeling bad if he declined after all of his Uncle's hard work to get him in. The two didn't acknowledge each other at first, during the meeting and introduction of each other. All of the students shared a little about themselves to the group, before they were able to walk around the museum freely. Most of the students had already known each other from the school year, where they messaged each other overseas, except for Aston, who joined the program at the last second. Groups of American and French students were naturally formed from preexisting friendships, while Aston decided to wander off around by himself, seeing that he didn't know anyone and rather adventure around on his own. Aston was pretty closed off, ever since his parents had separated, and that transferred to how he acted in socially. Though he wasn't sad or depressed over his parents anymore, he lost his sense of touch over his emotions and how to express them again. Aston's relationships with his parents were "loose", they still cared for Aston and vise versa but struggled in showing or communicating with each other. Diane was somewhat the opposite of Aston, her parents were very close and caring to her, but sometimes too close to her, her parents were extremely protective. Diane's parents always expected the absolute best from her, in and out of school. Their protective-ness over her became "trapping" to her as she grew up, never having an ounce of freedom, that she wanted. When the two first spoke to each other, it was very natural, they clicked, and spent the rest of their time at the museum together. They spoke and shared throughout the rest of the day and sat with each other at dinner. Rus' had never seen his nephew, so happy before, it brought joy to him that he was able to see a real smile on Aston's face. At the end of that day, they were happy, really truly happy. Diane was able to get the freedom she wanted for so long, being able to spend time away for parents for once, while Aston, without the realization, opened himself to another person....
